Abstract

Es bien sabido que el uso de la tecnología ha tenido un papel muy importante en la docencia de idiomas. Debido a que ya tenía un rol establecido en la enseñanza-aprendizaje, desde tiempos pre-pandemia, así como lo mencionan Kazemi y Haddad (2014) quienes afirman cómo la tecnología tiene un papel determinante en diversos ámbitos de cada individuo y un ejemplo de ello es el uso de tecnología más constante por parte de los estudiantes. Desde esos tiempos se podía notar cómo el uso de la tecnología iba tomando más presencia en las aulas de idiomas. No obstante, como se menciona en el título, en este ensayo vamos a analizar qué pasó con ese rol cuando la pandemia de COVID-19 dio inicio.

Author Biography

Gerardo Heredia, Centro de Idiomas Extranjeros “Ignacio Manuel Altamirano”

I am originally from CDMX, (chilango by birth) but most of my life I have lived in the state of Guerrero, I am a Computer Engineer graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero, in addition to having a master's degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Puebla, obtaining the award for Academic Excellence of the 2018 generation. I have specialized in the administration of educational platforms and editorial design with an educational focus. I have participated in various training programs, among which "Development of courses with Moodle" trained by the National Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and "Construction of iconographic classrooms in Moodle" by Edupan Certified Training Center.

I have more than 10 years of teaching experience in the teaching of information technologies. Currently, I’m a teacher at the Center for Foreign Languages (CIEX) since 2013 on the job training level and since 2014 at the undergraduate level, at the undergraduate level I focus on teaching technology with an educational approach.
