Second Language Learning Using an Online Teaching Platform under the Communicative Language Teaching Approach

This work dives deeply into Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) to an elaboration of a homemade platform that is built on its methodological concept and principles. COVID-19 forced schools to switch to online learning so we conducted this study to see if a homemade platform helped students learn. With the assistance of various authors and their perspectives on CLT, we were able to identify potential contributions to the development of the research problem through a review of literature. The chosen studies that assisted in the relevance of ours were: technologies, motivation, and second language teaching. The Case Study method and qualitative approach were used in the study, which included three elementary students, ages ranging from ten to twelve years old. Data was gathered using field diaries, observations, and video recordings. Charmaz's Grounded Theory was used to guide the analysis. Finally, it is possible to conclude that a homemade platform facilitates learning.
