It is not About Methods, but Principles
Changing Perspectives
Abstract
The field of language teaching has experienced many changes and trends over the last few decades. Various methods have come and gone, and we still have not been able to find one to help learners develop the language skills they need. This talk claims that there is no one single best method that can meet the goals and needs of all learners, and that language programs should focus more on identifying and using principles that can operate as theoretical and practical guidelines for teachers to design more meaningful learning experiences.
